I came home from vacation yesterday to learn about the horrible loss of life in the Midwest due to unexpectedly large tornadoes that struck the region. My heart was saddened to learn that dozens of people lost their lives in Moore, Oklahoma yesterday, including around twenty children who were trapped inside an elementary school when this monster hit.

Again, when tragedy strikes, I find myself asking ‘why did this happen?’ ‘Where was God? ‘How will this community repair?’ Of course we can all do our part. If you text “REDCROSS” TO 90999 from your mobile phone, you can make a quick ten second $10 donation to the Red Cross relief efforts and that makes such a difference in times like these.

While the community searches for survivors and loved ones, it’s important that we don’t get too lost in the dark, that we focus on the small miracles that do really occur in times like these. And that’s why I wanted to share this video that has gone viral this morning with you. For any of you who are grieving, while there is nothing that can take away this kind of trauma, we can do our part to stay positive and focus on joyful reunions like this one.
